What steel thickness do you use for standard server housings?

For most indoor racks we start with 1.6 mm cold-rolled steel, which keeps the frame rigid without making the cabinet unnecessarily heavy. When a deployment sits near vibration sources or in a high-traffic corridor, we step up to 2.0 mm or 2.5 mm on the load-bearing uprights and base. The choice depends on the equipment weight and whether the enclosure will be bolted to a concrete floor or mounted on seismic brackets.

Can you integrate cooling fans and airflow channels into the enclosure?

Yes. We build enclosures with dedicated fan trays, perforated front doors, and adjustable rear exhaust panels. For high-density racks we add side-mounted airflow baffles that direct cold air from the floor plenum straight through the server intakes. We also pre-wire fan controllers with temperature sensors, so the cooling system reacts to load without needing a separate control box.

Do you offer enclosures with physical access control features?

We do. Beyond standard cam locks, we can fit electronic latch kits that connect to your existing badge reader or central access system. Each door can include a tamper switch that triggers an alarm if the panel is forced open. For telecom cabinets in shared spaces, we also offer dual-lock options where two separate keys are required to open the rear door.

What is your typical lead time for a custom enclosure order?

For a standard rack with minor modifications, we usually ship within three to four weeks after drawing approval. A fully custom enclosure with new cutouts, special mounting rails, or integrated cable management takes closer to six weeks. We send a detailed fabrication drawing for sign-off before any steel is cut, so there are no surprises on delivery day.

How do you handle cable routing and power distribution inside the cabinet?

Every enclosure includes vertical cable managers on both sides, with finger ducts that keep power and data cables separated. If you need a PDU, we can mount it on the rear rail or along the side channel, depending on your rack layout. We also drill grommeted entry points at the top and bottom, sized to fit the conduit you plan to use.

Can you match a specific paint color or finish for our site?

Our standard finish is a textured dark grey powder coat that hides fingerprints and scratches well. If you need a different color to match existing equipment or site guidelines, we can apply a custom RAL finish. For outdoor cabinets we use a UV-stable polyester powder coat with a zinc-rich primer underneath, which holds up better in Australian sun and salt air.

From Specification to Installed Enclosure

Every housing we build follows the same disciplined path: define the load, confirm the environment, fabricate, test, and hand over with documentation your engineers can actually use.

Site and Load Assessment

We start with your floor plan, rack count, and cable entry points. Our engineers map heat output per cabinet and check seismic or vibration requirements for your region before we commit to a steel gauge.

Configuration and Drawings

You receive a dimensional layout with door swing, plenum depth, and service clearances marked. We confirm lock types, fan placement, and busbar routing so the enclosure matches your existing network room rather than the other way around.

Steel Fabrication and Welding

Frames are cut, folded, and welded in our Australian workshop. Structural members are checked against the agreed gauge, and weld seams are ground flush where panels need a clean interior for cable management.

Cooling and Airflow Setup

Fan trays, blanking panels, and perforated doors are fitted according to the thermal plan from step one. We test static pressure and airflow direction so hot spots do not develop behind dense switch stacks.

Load Testing and Inspection

Each unit is loaded with test rails to verify weight capacity and door alignment. Paint thickness, grounding continuity, and lock operation are recorded on a checklist that ships with the enclosure.

Delivery and Site Handover

We coordinate transport to your data center or telecom hut and provide assembly instructions for your installation crew. A final walkthrough covers access codes, spare parts, and maintenance intervals for fans and filters.
